Synopsis

비엔나 외곽의 작은 아파트에서 청각장애인 엄마와 함께 살아가는 안나는 고등학교에 입학하며 외모와 경제적 형편에서 비롯된 수치심에 사로잡힌다. 스키 여행조차 아픈 척하며 빠져야 하는 현실은 그녀를 더욱 고립시키지만, 집에 새로 놓인 소파베드는 어머니에게는 자유를, 안나에게는 처음으로 사적인 공간을 선사한다. 그러던 중, 반 친구 마라 역시 비밀을 간직하고 있음을 알게 되고, 두 소녀는 뜻밖의 연대를 나눈다. 성장과 수치심, 우정이 교차하는 시간 속에서 안나는 과연 자신의 목소리를 찾을 수 있을까?

Anna lives with her deaf mother in a small apartment on the outskirts of Vienna. Starting high school, she feels ashamed of her looks and modest background. She pretends to be ill to skip the ski trip, and the fee goes to a sofa bed that gives her mother freedom and herself privacy. When Anna learns her classmate Mara also hides a secret, the two form an unexpected bond.
